Who are MercEst

MercEst Development is a small IT Development company from Estonia.

Our biggest project is a green field project for a new ad portal: etsiff

But we have also help solve problems in different sizes for different companies in different sectors:

• Medical
  • Our oldest client is Medicum. Medicum is the biggest private held, health organization in Estonia.
• Finance
  • We gave manpower to TripleDev for their clients from Moldova. Work involved improving CMS and a BPS projects.
• Real-estate
  • Our client was Arco Vara, one of the biggest real-estate companies in Estonia. We helped to improve and stabilize their EPS system.
• University
  • Our client was Queensland University of Technologies, where we gave temporary manpower to help them upgrade their student portlets to meat a deadline.
• Government organizations
  • Helped reach a deadline for a EU Sigma project, that involved making a new work tool for their users. This was a quick manpower boost for a team in Helmes.

These are the most prominent ones, but we have done work on smaller projects also.

We think of ourselves as a very agile small company, that has expert knowledge in Java.

Our focus is to offer the best communication and find the best solution for our clients, even if that means sending them to a different company.

New Era for MercEst

It was not long ago, when the decision to found MercEst was made. As the saying goes: “If you like to criticize, then have the courage to act”

It took some time to get MercEst up and running. Now reached the milestone of having the supporting IT infrastructure, that should be there for a Software development company.

Get the basic and then improve, is the mantra. As you can stay in development for a lifetime, to get that perfect product. But real life scenarios are what create the waves and it’s more fun to learn to surf, then it is to be able to control them. In Estonia right now, small software development companies who are effective, agile and focused are best suited for the needs of 80% of the companies.

That said, what is still largely missing, is the right mindset to listen to the client and The Drive to solve their problems.

But as our moto is, big problems have to be broken down to smaller sizes and handled one by one. MercEst is just one part of the solution, to the bigger problem.
